STEMS: Generate real distinct, individual stems for each track, allowing seamless replacement of instruments and vocals for greater customization and flexibility.

Introduce a functionality where each generated song includes separate, high-quality stems for individual elements like instruments, vocals, and effects. This would allow users to replace or modify specific components without affecting the entire track, offering complete creative freedom. By giving users the ability to customize each stem—whether swapping out a guitar for a piano or adjusting vocal tracks—this feature would provide a more versatile and dynamic music creation experience.

I feel this feature could achieve several good features at once. If the AI could take a complete song it created, analyze it and just output the guitar, bass, drums, synth, vocals etc. it would be amazing for this feature but it also means we could easily turn a regular song into an instrumental by cleanly removing the vocals.

Real track separation for the different instruments is a must. The first AI music generator system to realize this will become the market leader. Voice separation is nice, but you can't avoid sound bleed-through. It's like saying separate the coffee from the sugar, it's impossible no matter how hard you try.

Please add a true (real) multi-track output rendering feature, so that the results of each track do not overlap when extracted with stems

Perhaps it could be created as 4 basic tracks like stems, or more comprehensive for higher-level members. And this access should only be available to the song’s owner. Certainly, this will differentiate between those who download someone else’s song and perform stems roughly versus real multi-track output."

This would be great!

I will probably cry when this drops. Stem separation is nice but, but let’s call it multitrack generation. Stem generation is not the correct approach. It’s akin to making a banana split and then separating the ingredients after it is made. It can be done… but, is that the best method? instead, begin with the end in mind. Flexibility is the goal… so this would include, sound fidelity, timbre, pitch, tempo, midi, DAW plugin, and of course the ability to remix individual parameters and or instruments.

Seems that Udio team is on fire with all those new features on review.. can't wait for the next episodes

This would be really amazing!

OMG! Yes! Please add the ability to separate ALL parts into tracks. Making a song is akin to rolling the dice (literally). That being the case there are only a few ways to remove the extraneous sounds that are frequently created:
- Play the entire song over manually (if you are so musically inclined.)
- Trash the parts of the song and start over.
- Export into a DAW and Dr. Frankenstein the song (inpaint). (killing the initial vibe)

Stems without empty spaces

Perhaps the model could create the individual stems at the time of creation. The resulting output would then be a default mixdown. When downloading, the original, complete stem would be available. This could potentially result in stems for individual instruments or distinct sections such as rhythm guitars and lead guitar.
Eventually, repainting could be applied more efficiently to a single stem, multiple, or all.
